Dimitri Academy

Accademia Dimitri was founded in 1974 in the Swiss Verscio village in Canton Ticino as SCUOLA Teatro Dimitrislavný by the Swiss clown Dimitrim, his wife Gunda and Czech mime Richard Weber. The school began to connect various theater and circus traditions as a private institution with a vision - from Commedia dell’arte to clown sketches to pantomime and dance. Physical Theater, which moved its focus to the physical theater and left the tradition of the "School for Clowns". In 2008, the international master program Master of Arts in Theater, taught in English, which combines physical theater, material/object/puppet theater and applied theater practice. In 2015, the school changed its name to Accademia Dimitri.
