Divadlo 2-15

A music-theatre platform that aims to bring together and support young literati, music composers and performers in order to create continuous activity in the fields of opera, drama, dance and other scenic genres.

The ensemble's core interest is an opera focusing exclusively on original opera premieres of the current generation of composers. Opera titles are based on original librettos and are composed within the framework of a composer's approach, ranging from inspiration by historical compositional techniques to absolute freedom of experimentation.

The effort of Theater 2-15 is not to create competition or an alternative to contemporary theaters, but above all to support the creation of new music-dramatic titles, with which composers, directors and performers can speak to the contemporary audience.

The theater presented the opera Trautzl?! by composer Jan Zástěra (2015) recital To a piece speech without fear and convulsions (2015), opera Peřiny by composer Jiří Najvar (2016), Kramářské povidení (2017), recital Setkání > (2018) and the comic opera Velké Prádlo na Špilberk (2019), which was written for Špilberk as part of the Brno Museum Nights event.
