Divadlo Aldente

Aldente Theater was founded in 2008 (a legal entity since 2010) as an independent theater group of students from various art schools. In the eight years of its existence, it created 20 productions and performed over 180 performances. Nowadays, when the founding members are no longer students, the theater engages both professional artists and students of art colleges or anyone who can bring suitable inspiration to the theater - for example actors with Down syndrome.

A certain turning point in theater orientation occurred in the 2013/2014 season, when the director and founder Jitka Vrbková had a child with a disability. More demanding care for a child with specific needs led to the cancellation of several intended projects; but at the same time she gave rise to the idea of ​​a theater with actors with mental retardation. From this season onwards, the Aldente Theater is devoted mainly to projects with actors with Down syndrome, while at the same time completing productions from the previous period.
