Divadlo kjógen

The ensemble originated from the initiative of the Czech playwright, director and Mima Hubert Krejčí, Japanist Ondřej Hýbl and leading representative of the Kyoto traditional school of Master Šigejama Šime (among others the director of the acting Association of Nó and Kjogen Preserving the traditional culture of the city of Kyoto ”). In a way, it is a world unique. It is a long -term project of mutual cultural cooperation between Czech and Japanese theaters, supported by regularly organized workshops, in which a new game in Czech is always staged under the leadership of the Japanese master. MDK is a unique theater grouping outside Japan, which is systematically devoted to the cultivation of this traditional artistic genre.
