Divadlo Stoka

Divadlo Stoka is the first non-state theater that was created after the change in political conditions in Slovakia and has been operating since 1991. Its founder, artistic director and director is Blaho Uhlár. The repertoire of the theater is based on the principle of collective creation. After Stoka lost its space, its diverse activities narrowed down to the creation and organization of its own theater productions. In 2013, Stoka premiered the English version of the production Neistý grunt. Since 2012, the theater has had a new set of actors, mostly graduates of the Department of Acting and the Department of Puppetry at VŠMU. The current theater is located in the YMCA building. The creation of the ensemble is regularly presented at Slovak festivals.
