DJ Schwa
Michal Schwa (real name Michal Růžička) aka DJ Schwa is a Czech DJ who is behind the Beef Records label and the Shades of Gray project and rave events Komiks.
In the years 2005-2012, DJ Schwa moved to Sydney, Australia, where he was a resident after-hours club Spice. In 2012, the DJ together with Nick West released, under the pseudonym Shades Of Gray, his debut house LP Soul Machine. DJ Mag UK listed Soul Machine among the 50 best albums of 2012, and Shades Of Gray began intensive touring (Australia, Japan, South America and Europe). In 2015, after returning to Prague, DJ Schwa (together with DJs Fatty M and Lumiere) started running the warehouse event Komiks and focused on techno and acid house. Komiks hosted performers such as Derrick May, Omar S, Robert Hood, Kink, Marcel Dettmann, Steffi, Bjarki, Bambounou, David August, Tornado Wallace, Palms Trax, San Proper, Moscoman, Vakula, etc. In 2021, Michal founded the WD-40 Trax project with his nephew Jan Poš, focusing on rave music and sound experiments.
