Egli Prifti

Egli Prifti was born in the Albanian seaside town of Vlora, where he studied at an elementary art school, later at an art lyceum and at the same time remotely at the art lyceum in Tirana. During these studies, he gave concerts not only in Albania, but also abroad. In 1995 he gave a recital on the Albanian National Television in Tirana and in 2003 he won the Vincenzo Fanizza Award in Italy. He is the recipient of the Excellence Award of the National Festival of Art Lyceums in Albania. In 2010, he graduated from the Faculty of Pedagogy of Charles University in Prague in the class of Jana Palkovská. In 2010, he completed his doctoral studies with prof. Michal Nedělka and in 2018 a second doctoral study at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague with prof. Jan Vičar with a focus on Albanian contemporary music.

He recorded for the Czech Radio, the Albanian Radio, the Portál publishing house and also with the Cancioneta Praga choir. He cooperates, for example, with the Children's Choir of the Czech Radio, the Symphony Orchestra of the Albanian Radio, the Maurice Ensemble, the Cancioneta Praga Choir, and others. For several years, he taught at the Faculty of Pedagogy of Charles University in Prague, at the University of Arts in Tirana, and also lectured at the Faculty of Arts of Haxhi Zeka University in Péč (Kosovo) and New York University in Prague. At the same time, he is a lecturer at the Czech Philharmonic Educational Concerts.

He has been devoted to contemporary music for a long time. He played with Trio Helix at several prestigious concert series of contemporary music, such as Big Music - Brno Philharmonic, Forfest in Kroměříž, Artistic Talk in Prague, or concert series of the Dresden Philharmonic and Pianodrom Tirana. With Trio, he also recorded contemporary compositions for Czech Radio.

He has been working in the Konvergence ensemble since 2015.
