Electro Deluxe

Six sought-after instrumentalists on the French funky-jazz scene and classy American singer James Copley. They say seven wolves in sheep's clothing: at first they look innocent enough that you would invite them to your home, but during the concert they turn into such predators that it seems like a rather dangerous idea. They are also confused by the name, which refers to their beginnings with electro jazz in 2001, but today the adjective "electrifying" applies to their charge of funk, soul and jazz.

Drummer Arnaud Renaville, bassist Jérémie Coke, trumpeter Vincent Payen , trombonist Bertrand Luzigan, saxophonist Thomas Faure and keyboardist Gael Cadoux until recently fulfilled their vision of a French jazz dialogue with American Motown funk and hip-hop instrumentally. Ben l'Oncle Soul, Crystal et HKB FiNN, 20syl or Nina Attal sang and rapped on their albums. Paradoxically, this turned out to be a problem: people wanted to hear singing even at concerts. Meeting American soul singer James Copley was therefore a godsend for them. In addition, since 2010 they have been able to change the definition of their music: soul & groove. With the big band, they then ventured to the hall of the famous Olympia in Paris, which of course they easily conquered. Their album Home from 2014 also received good reviews. So far, their latest album from 2016 is called Circle.
