Elektrabel

Elektrabel, whose real name is Tomáš Hartl, comes from Břeclav and has been active on the Czech scene with his intelligent electronics for many years. He played in almost every club and festival in the country, as well as in a few places in the world, such as Berlin's Tresor or Tokyo's Womb. He made himself known for the very first time through the Czech Virtual Label, where his debut album Untitled was released in 2001. Two years later, he managed to do something unprecedented by Czech standards. His production was noticed by Jeff Mills, who later released his first foreign vinyl MISSION 01 – Elektrabel EP on the sub-label Axis Records 6277. Another two years later there was another collaboration and the next release Crocks heralded the arrival of the LP For Various Reasons, which was released as MISSION 04 and achieved unprecedented success both with critics and the public. In the same year, he released the fifth Mission in a row - Trefa, which only confirmed his position on the then techno scene. His sound is still characterized by pounding rhythms and hypnotic synthesizer loops, but also dense surfaces and slower beats.
