En Arché

En Arché Chamber Choir was founded by Vojtěch Jouza in 1995. Its members are amateur singers united by their enthusiasm for beautiful music from different stylistic periods. The choir is mainly dedicated to spiritual music. The focus of the repertoire is the music of Baroque authors, which is complemented by compositions from the pre-Baroque period or the 20th century (B. Britten, I. Stravinsky, V. Ullmann, A. Pärt, L. Bernstein).

At his concerts, En Arché also cooperates with chamber ensembles, especially the Prague Baroque Ensemble, and orchestras (Czech Philharmonic, Pardubice Chamber Philharmonic, North Bohemian State Philharmonic Teplice, Hradec Králové Philharmonic, Pilsen Philharmonic). In December 2014, for example, he participated in the performance of Jakub Jan Ryba's Czech Christmas Mass with the Czech Philharmonic under the baton of Jiří Bělohlávek. This concert was broadcast live to cinemas and is repeated every year on Christmas Day by Czech Television.

En Arché Chamber Choir has won numerous awards at international competitions and often performs at concerts here and abroad (Germany, Switzerland, Norway , Belgium). In 2000, he recorded his first CD, on which he recorded Stabat Mater and František Xaver Thuri's Requiem in collaboration with the Czech Madrigalists and the Prague Baroque Ensemble. The choir also collaborated with the Prague Baroque Ensemble on another CD with compositions by J.S. Bach and A. Vivaldi.
