Felix Slováček
Felix Slováček, a graduate of the Kroměříž Conservatory and the Janáček Academy of Musical Arts in Brno, represents the top among clarinet and saxophone players on the Czech music scene. His permanent repertoire includes works from the field of classical music as well as jazz and pop. As a solo player, he has already won many prizes at international competitions. He has always demonstrated his musical versatility also as a composer and since 1983 as chief conductor of the Felix Slováček Big Band.
Felix Slováček was a member of many orchestras such as the Karel Vlach Orchestra and performed with a number of others (Gustav Brom's Big Band, RIAS Radio Big Band, Big Band Radio Copenhagen, WDR Big Band Köln, etc.). He also appeared regularly in the programs of Czech pop star Karel Gott. As an interpreter of classical music, Felix Slováček performed with many well-known musical ensembles in the Czech Republic and abroad – he collaborated, for example, with the European Community Chamber Orchestra, the Slovak Philharmonic, the Dresden Philharmonic, the Hessian Radio Symphony Orchestra and others.
