Filharmonie Bohuslava Martinů
The Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic bears the name of one of the great Czech composers. The focus on the presentation of his work, now performed by the orchestra on numerous radio recordings and CDs, began in the 1960s. The orchestra's concert activity is based on three series of subscription concerts and a number of extraordinary concerts. However, he has already performed in all the most important centers of the Czech Republic, e.g. Prague, Brno, Ostrava, in Slovakia in Bratislava, Žilina, Košice. The repertoire of the Bohuslav Martinů Zlín Philharmonic consists of almost all symphonic works from various stylistic periods, as well as a large number of contemporary compositions. The members of the orchestra have also created several chamber associations and their performances complement the concert season with this musical area.
