Ice Hokku

Ice Hokku is an indie pop duo from Israel formed in 2016 by Julia Garnits and Anton Dmitriev. Both grew up listening to Western music and now draw inspiration from Middle Eastern music. The name Ice Hokku is a play on words from Japanese poetry called "hokku" and ice hockey, i.e. "ice hockey".

Ice Hokku is dedicated to live-looping electronic and acoustic sounds. It's a mix of guitars, synthesizers, drums and layers of voices. They mostly make pop songs in English or Hebrew with strong and unusual vocals with a Middle Eastern touch.
