Igor Ardašev

Igor Ardašev has been representing Czech pianistic art on the international forum for a long time. His talent was first shaped by his father, later at the conservatory and at JAMU by Inessa Janíčková, in master classes by Paul Badura-Skoda in Austria and Rudolf Serkin in the USA. In addition to his successes in junior competitions, Ardashev became a laureate of the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, the Prague Spring Competition, the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels (he also won the Belgian Radio and Television Prize here), and the Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibaud Competition in Paris. In 1990, he received the 1st prize in the Maria Callas competition in Athens. ¨

The level of interpretation allows the virtuoso-disposed and philosophically oriented pianist to hold solo recitals, play four-handed and on two pianos with his wife Renata, and collaborate with chamber ensembles and excellent world orchestras and conductors (Czech Philharmonic, Prague Chamber Philharmonic, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, BBC London). In addition to domestic stages, he is invited to renowned European music festivals. His recordings include, for example, Tchaikovsky Concerto in B minor, four-hand Dvořák's Slavic Dances and a piano version of Smetana's My Country with Renata Ardaševová, solo compositions by Liszt, Martinů, Ježkova, Prokofiev, Mussorgsky, Beethoven and others. In addition to his concert activities, he also works as a teacher at HF JAMU and is invited to the juries of important piano competitions.
