Jan Tengler

Czech double bassist Jan Tengler began to devote himself consistently to jazz in 2002, when he began studying double bass at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory with Jaromír Honzák.

He accepted his first professional engagement in 2005 in the quartet of guitarist Roman Pokorný, at the same time became a member of the young band Work In Progress, which attracted attention with its quality original repertoire. In 2006, he was offered collaboration by the leading Czech jazz vocalist Jana Koubková, whom he accompanied on festival and club stages for the following two years. Jan Tengler has so far collaborated with many vocal and instrumental soloists, e.g. John Serry, Walter Fishbacher, Ondřej Pivec, Štěpán Marković, Olga Škrancová, Yvonne Sanchez, Elena Sonnenshine and many others.
