Jano Doe

Jano Doe is the solo project of curator, cultural manager and instrument designer Katarína Gatialová. She is a member of the live-coding Kolektiv or the noise groups Inocenc and Augiáš's sonic barn. Her live performances take the form of live-patching – all signal paths are created on her self-made modular synthesizer directly in front of the audience, combined with no-input mixer binding and noisy cassette loops. The creation and shaping of the signal is demonstrated on the oscilloscope screen, and the lo-fi aesthetics are occasionally complemented by light effects in the form of a burning module or power supply.
