Karandila Orkestra and Maya Atanasova

Their music combines the tradition of Bulgarian brass bands with the rhythm of swing, bebop and oriental melodies. Karandila Orchestra has performed at major European festivals and their concerts are famous for not leaving the audience sitting for long. The singer Maya Atanasova, one of the most interesting voices of the young generation of the Bulgarian Roma scene, often joins them on stage. Traditional Balkan melodies in her performance sound raw, but at the same time modern.
