DJ Lag is the self-proclaimed "King of GQ", a bass style of house music that originated on the city's boats in Durban and began to conquer dance floors in Europe and Asia. With his tracks like Trip To New York, Ice Dropp or 3 Step Culo, the South African shows how to produce high-energy house tracks with funky bass lines , motivating vocal screams, layers of complex percussion and a thrilling intensity that can be found mainly in young genres and new club scenes. DJ Lag performed at Unsound or Afropunk Festival, created remixes for Kelela and prepared a mix for the prestigious BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix.
