Lobkowicz Trio
The Lobkowicz Trio is a Czech trio founded in 2013 consisting of Jan Mráček – violin, Ivo Vokáč – cello and Lukáš Klánský – piano. All three members of the Lobkowicz Trio are acclaimed soloists and chamber players. The ensemble used its experience from many stages in the country and abroad at the international Johannes Brahms competition in Pörtschach, Austria, where it won the first prize and the audience prize in September 2014. The Lobkowicz Trio is also a laureate of the Dvořák International Competition in Prague.
The name of the ensemble points to the traditional connection between the Lobkowicz family and many composers of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Ludwig van Beethoven dedicated the Triple Concerto for piano, violin, cello and orchestra to the Lobkowicz family, which is one of the highlights of the trio repertoire. Permission to use this noble name was given to the ensemble by Mr. Jaroslav Lobkowicz.
