Martyna Basta

Martyna Basta is a Polish composer, producer and singer moving between art-pop, chamber folk and electro-acoustic composition. She comes from a classical guitar background, but gradually moved to electronics. She uses edited field recordings and instrumental samples, from which she composes a unique sound diary.

Her work combines fragile, mysterious singing with detailed work with sound. The result is an intimate and tangible musical world. The author's approach has a diary character, in which he draws on vulnerability, memory and desire. The songs act as personal reflections, balancing between melodic immediacy and a dreamy atmosphere.

He works with processed recordings of instruments such as zither, harpsichord and guitar, and creates subtle but strongly emotional soundscapes. In her music, the emotional intensity of shoegaze meets the ornamentation of baroque music.
