Mittelständische Energiewirtschaft Deutschland

The MEW Mittelständische Energiewirtschaft Deutschland e.V. is the voice of the independent petroleum and energy industry in Germany. He is also a member of the European umbrella organization UPEI - The Voice of Europe's independent fuel suppliers.

The MEW is an umbrella organization: a higher-level association in which several associations are brought together. The companies of its four member associations represent the entire range of the medium-sized structured mineral oil business:

• AFM+E: Import and wholesale
• UTV: Tank farms
• bft: Independent filling stations
• FPE: Marine fuels

Member structure:

The MEW represents through its members' companies in Germany:

• 85 percent of the Tank storage capacity*
• 36 percent of diesel imports
• 30 percent of heating oil imports
• 15 percent of the entire gas station market (free gas stations)
