Petr Nohavica

Petr Nohavica is a drummer and author.

He made his mark on the Czech music scene not only as the leader of his own project Glance, but also as a sideman in projects across genres, e.g. Winterspring (Allison Wheeler Quartet), B/Y Organism, Bardo, Tour Guide Blonde, Drifter Days (Tom Smith/Daniel Bulatkin). He also collaborated with other artists, e.g. with Lukáš Oravec, Luboš Soukup, Robert Balcar or Tal Arditi. The Glance project is the result of several years of composing activity. To record the album of the same name, Petr Nohavica invited the best of Czech jazz, guitarist David Dorůžka, pianist Jiří Levíček, saxophonist Cyril Oswald and double bassist Jaromír Honzák. Singer Allison Wheeler also makes a guest appearance on the album. The album was released by the Brno publishing house Bivak Records and in 2024 appeared in a wider nomination for the Anděl award in the jazz category.
