Pražské domy

The Prague Houses project deals primarily with the architecture and history of Prague in the context of art history. It is based on weekend walks thoroughly mapping individual houses, where participants walk one house at a time according to descriptive numbers. Art historian Jakub Synecký provides an expert interpretation of art-historical facts and contexts, supplemented by pictures of individual houses.

The goal of the walks is a systematic, detailed and focused journey through the history of art, the history of Prague, architecture, and contemporary events. Since 2008, the walks have been complemented and expanded by lectures in the Stone Theatre. The lectures are focused on various other topics such as urbanism, works of art in public space, preservation of monuments or "medallions" of architects. Occasional joint trips to related topics are added to the variety of walks and lectures.
