Radek Baborák

The horn player and conductor Radek Baborák is one of the most outstanding musical personalities of the international classical music scene. Since his solo debut in 1989, he has collaborated with many world orchestras and top conductors. After many years of work as a solo horn player (Berlin Philharmonic) and enriched by a number of experiences in the field of chamber music by artistic direction of ensembles (Baborak Ensemble, Horn Chorus, Afflatus Quintet), in 2008 he began to pursue a career as a conductor in parallel. Baborák's mentor and role model in this is primarily maestro Daniel Barenboim and maestro Seiji Ozawa. In 2011, he initiated the foundation of the festival orchestra Česká Sinfonietta, of which he is the chief conductor, and since 2013 he has taken over the artistic direction of the Prague Chamber Soloists. Since the 2017 season, he has been appointed principal guest conductor of the Yamagata Symphony Orchestra.

Radek Baborák collaborates with the orchestras Das Deutsche Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, Istanbul State Orchestra, Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra Hl.m.Prague FOK and others. His popularity in Japan, where he also conducted a number of orchestras, is extraordinary. As a conductor/soloist he performed at renowned festivals such as Maggio muicale Fiorentino, Mozartwoche Salzurg, Marta Argerich festival Beppu, Prague Spring, Dvořák Prague, Smetanova Litomyšl and accompanied renowned soloists (Yefim Bronfmann, Julian Steckel, Saleem Aboud Ashkar, Marie-Piere Langlamet, Clara Dent, Janne Saksala, Dalibor Karvay, Jan Mráček).
