Scaramuccia

The Scaramuccio ensemble has established itself as a unique and original project on the European early music scene. Their musical expression is appreciated for its sincerity combined with an intellectual approach.

It was founded in 2013 on the initiative of violinist and musicologist Javier Lupiáñez with the aim of rediscovering the lesser-known baroque repertoire. During his career, critics and audiences appreciated him for the liveliness and expressiveness of his performances, his relationship with the audience and the originality of his programs. Thanks to the thorough research behind each program, the Scaramuccio ensemble often has the opportunity and pleasure to present unpublished and forgotten musical treasures, hidden among the most standard baroque repertoire.
