Tiken Jah Fakoly, actually Doumbia Moussa Fakoly is an Ivorian musician. He is considered one of the most influential reggae musicians in Africa. He is considered one of the most influential reggae musicians in Africa. He plays roots reggae and usually sings in French or in African languages, sometimes in English. Almost all his songs are very political. In 1996 Tiken Jah Fakoly criticised the political leadership of his country in the song Mangercratie and advocates for everyone's right to food. Despite long-term censorship, this protest song was on the charts for months. At the end of 2004 he finally completed his new album Coup de Gueule. Thousands of people traveled from Ivory Coast to Mali to listen to it uncensored and live. So far, it has been sold more than 500,000 times in West Africa alone.
