Initiative for Contemporary Art of Transit.cz was founded in 2002 as part of the Central European Network of Transit.org and its aim is to contribute to the accessible and participant development of critical culture. Transit.cz organizes exhibitions, art and curatorial residences and discourse programs. During the 22 years of its existence, transit.cz has initiated or participated in a number of projects. Between 2007 and 2017, transit.cz was part of the Prague Gallery project Transitdisplay, in 2017 initiated the establishment of a code of feminist (art) institutions and organized the first two years of Prague Biennale on the art of art | Matter of Art . Tranzit.cz has published books by Czech artists such as Pavel Humhal and Jiří David, and Czech translations of texts in the field of critical theory, philosophy, art theory and feminism and prose (eg, Sophie Lewis, Shulamith Firestone, Audre Lord, Frantz Fanon, Bruno Latour Hakim Bey, John Cage, David Graber, Carla Lonzi, Nicolas Bourriaud and others).
