Vlastislav Matoušek
Vlastislav Matoušek is a Czech ethnomusicologist and composer. In 1996, as a Japan Foundation scholarship, he studied the game on Shakuhači at Kifu Mitsuhashi in Tokyo and Japanese traditional music at the University of Letters in Osage. At the Music Faculty of AMU he defended the dissertation of Kinetics in ethnic music and won a doctorate in the field of music theory - composition theory and in 2004 he was appointed associate professor. Since 1991 he has been teaching ethnomusicology at the Department of theory and History of Music Ham, since 1999 he also at the Institute for the Music Mudicles of the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague and cooperates as a music publicist with Czech Radio. He also played this instrument in the 90s in the ensemble before your era and Yamab, in which he applies ethnic music and modern classics to rock aesthetics. Asian classical music, as well as in occasional sets focused on folk music and jazz. Since 2012, he began working with the clarinetist, saxophonist and fujarist Michal Hrubý (Jazz Khonspiracy, small breathing exercises, three units and double bass), saxophonist Jan Grunt (small breathing exercises, three units and double bass). In addition, he also devotes himself to East Bohemian folkor (also playing on various types of bagpipes) and medieval music.
