Vojtěch Semerád

He graduated from the Prague Conservatory in the Viola, Choiring at the Faculty of Education of Charles University and the Baroque violin on the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris in the François Fernandéze class. He expands his interest in Gregorian chant and vocal polyphony in his doctoral studies at the Papal Institute of Musica Sacra in Rome. In 2011 he became the finalist of the international Telemann-Wettbewerb competition in Magdeburg. Vojtěch Semerád is the artistic director of the vocal ensemble Cappella Mariana and is also a member of the Collegium Marianum ensemble, which deals with the music of the 17th and 18th century and as one of the few professional ensembles in the Czech Republic has not only concert works. As a soloist and chamber player, he performs on important European stages and festivals (Thêatre Champs Elyssée, Palau de Música Barcelone, Concertgebouw Rotterdam, Tage Alter Musik Regensburg, Bachfest Leipzig, Prague Jaro) and Françoises, Les Paladins, Ensemble Inegal and many others. He participates in the shooting for Deutsche Gramophon, Nažvve or Supraphon and regularly records for Czech Television and Radio.
