Zdeněk Plech
Bassist Zdeněk Plech studied at the Brno Conservatory and JAMU in Marta Beňačková's class. He is currently improving with Pavel Kamas. During his studies, he became a laureate of the Mikuláš Schneider-Trnavský international singing competition (1998) and a finalist of the prestigious Ferrucio Tagliavini bel canto competition (Graz, 2002). During his studies, Zdeněk Plech briefly guested at the Moravian Theater in Olomouc, in 2004-2004 he was a soloist at the National Theater in Brno, where he studied more than twenty roles, and since 2004 he has been engaged at the National Theater in Prague. He often performs abroad. In 2003, he was invited by the Cincinnati Opera (USA), a year later he was a guest at the festival in San Sebastian, Spain (Tom in Verdi's Masquerade Ball), he performed repeatedly at the summer festival in Gars, Austria. Since 2006, he has been a regular guest of the Canadian Opera Company in Toronto, where he performed in productions of Verdi's Don Carlos, Bellini's Norma, Berg's Vojcko, Beethoven's < em>Fidelia, Dvořák's Rusalka and Janáček's opera From the Dead House and in 2006 he performed at the opening ceremony of the new Toronto Four Seasons Center in Wagner's The Ring of the Nibelung (Fasolt in The Gold of the Rhine and Hagen in The Twilight of the Gods).
