Zu
Zu is a psychedelic Italian trio. They were created under the immediate influence of the Swans concert and since 1999 they have been able to move not only the floodgates of the experimental scene, or rather the part of it that deals with hard guitars. The Italian trio Zu became famous for their collaboration with Mike Patton (the breakthrough album Carboniferous was released - like several others - on the Ipecac label), but their scope is much wider. And we can talk about a split with industrial hip-hoppers Dälek and a collaboration with Buzz Osborne from Melvins or renowned drummers Gab Serbian (Retox, Cattle Decapitation) or Balázs Pándi (Merzbow, To Live And Shave in L.A.). The breadth of their musical interests is best evidenced by the album Jhator (2017).
The duo of Massimo Pupillo (bass guitar) and Luca T. Mai (baritone saxophone) is currently joined by drummer Tomas Järmyr (below Barchan, the band in which he met James Welburn).
