Ako vyzeral hudobný underground na Slovensku v 80. rokoch a čo sa s ním stalo po roku 1989? Na príklade organizovania niektorých nezávislých kultúrnych podujatí sa pozrieme na to, čo znamenalo žiť po svojom v období neskorého socializmu, ako sa underground vyrovnával s novými podmienkami 90. rokov a či revolúcia skutočne priniesla slobodu, o ktorú jeho aktéri usilovali.
Dvadsiatu tretiu prednášku bude viesť historička Sandra Plaskoňová.
Sandra je doktorandka v odbore všeobecné dejiny na Historickom ústave SAV. A výskumne sa venuje najmä premenám predstáv o autonómii a nezávislosti u alternatívnych kultúrnych komunít v neskorom socializme a po roku 1989.

Underground and the art of living your own way: From late socialism to freedom?
What did the musical underground in Slovakia look like in the 1980s and what happened to it after 1989? Using the example of organizing certain independent cultural events, we will look at what it meant to live your own way during the late socialist period, how the underground coped with the new conditions of the 1990s, and whether the revolution truly brought the freedom its actors strived for.
The twenty-third lecture will be given by historian Sandra Plaskoňová (Lecture will be held in Slovak language).
Sandra is a PhD student in the field of general history at the Institute of History of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAS). Her research focuses primarily on the transformation of ideas about autonomy and independence within alternative cultural communities during late socialism and after 1989.
