Scénou sú fasády ODA, Okruhového domu armády v centre Trenčína – schodiská a balkóny smerujúce do Vajanského ulice, zadný trakt ukrytý mimo hlavného pohľadu. Peter Mazalán a Eva Šušková tu vo svetovej premiére uvedú nové performatívno-hudobné dielo FINE / Death Speaks, inšpirované hudbou amerického skladateľa Davida Langa.

Peter Mazalán, Eva Šušková (SK) I FINE / Death Speaks
koncert v obrazoch I premiéra I 50 min
2026 I jazyk: slovenský, anglický, nemecký
OBSADENIE:
Peter Mazalán – scénický koncept, spev, performancia; Eva Šušková – hudobný koncept, spev, performancia; David Danel – husle, performancia; Miloš Slobodník – elektrická gitara, performancia; Fero Király – klavír, performancia; videoprojekcia – Jakub Pišek

Účinkovala v mnohých operných domoch, na medzinárodných i domácich hudobných a divadelných festivaloch v spolupráci s významnými dirigentmi, orchestrami a ansámblami. Na nahrávkach zaznamenáva profilové projekty i rôznorodé nadžánrové umelecké spolupráce. Je držiteľkou Ceny Nadácie Tatrabanky za umenie, Radio Head Awards a ceny Frica Kafendu. Pôsobí na Pedagogickej fakulte Univerzity Komenského a v neziskovej organizácii Superar Slovakia.
PETER MAZALÁN (1984) je režisér, scénograf a spevák. Absolvoval operný spev a scénografiu na VŠMU v Bratislave. Vyštudoval tiež Fakultu architektúry a dizajnu STU. Vystupoval v Bayerische Staatsoper v Mníchove, Stadttheater Klagenfurt, Theater Kiel, Národnom divadle v Ostrave a v Brne alebo v Slovenskom národnom divadle. Spolupracoval s hudobnými telesami ako Bayerisches Staatsorchester, Münchner Symphoniker, Chorwerk Ruhr či Filharmonie Brno. V súčasnosti tvorí predovšetkým autorské intermediálne projekty prepájajúce klasickú piesňovú literatúru so súčasnými performatívnymi a výtvarnými technikami.

Žijeme v dobe najväčšej hudobnej, kompozičnej a nástrojovej pestrosti v dejinách. Takže:
Koľkými spôsobmi sa dá hrať na gitare?
Kam siahajú hranice experimentu a improvizácie?
Kam ďalej z európskej tradície veľkolepých koncertných sál a poriadku kvintakordu?

ZDRUŽENIE OOO vzniklo na jar 2020 z potreby vytvorenia dedikovaného priestoru pre skúmanie sveta cez sound art, súčasnú hudbu a intermediálne umenie. Zakladajúci členovia sú hudobník, pedagóg a intermediálny umelec Fero Király a dramaturgička, kultúrna manažérka a performerka Eva Vozárová. Autorský a kurátorský záujem združenia sa sústreďuje na projekty, ktoré sa ponárajú do komplexných vzťahov medzi ľudskými a mimo-ľudskými bytosťami, zahŕňajúc oblasti akustickej ekológie, deep listening, environmentálnych a sociálnych tém a disciplíny ako antropológia, filozofia, matematika a ďalšie oblasti poznania. We invite you to the third edition of concert events in the PSSST series, curated by the ooo as part of Trenčín 2026.

WHEN: June 5, 2026
WHERE: facades of ODA, Trenčín
ENTRY: free

Site defines the possibilities of movement. It defines modes of being. It is malleable; we believe we can shape it and transform it. Space is geometry, volume, distance, and orientation. How many spaces do you pass through each day? How many of them do you notice, and how many merely flicker by, unseen? Space is something of everyday (con)sumption. It affects how we feel, what we think about, and how we think. For the urban dweller, architecture is the scenography of everyday life. This is where our stories, dramas, and joys unfold.
As part of pssst: SITE, urban space becomes a site for art. The stage is set by the facades of ODA, the District House of the Army in the centre of Trenčín – staircases and balconies facing Vajanského Street, and the rear section hidden from the main view. Here, Peter Mazalán and Eva Šušková will present the world premiere of a new performative-musical work, FINE / Death Speaks, inspired by the music of American composer David Lang.

Peter Mazalán, Eva Šušková (SK) I FINE / Death Speaks
concert in images I Slovak premiere I 50 min
2026 I language: slovak, german, english
The themes of death, silence, and human fragility meet concrete human and spatial boundaries. FINE / Death Speaks analyses the inner image of the human being and explores the body at the limits of its physical capacities – the body as a site of exhaustion, resistance, and inner strength. Despite its dark point of departure, the project opens up a space for hope: it uses the word FINE in both its familiar English meaning and its Italian form. “I am fine” appears here not as something self-evident or as a phrase, but as a fragile, consciously spoken decision to continue, and not to define FINE as “the end.” In the tension between exhaustion and inner energy, the possibility of renewal emerges – a quiet assent to life despite its finitude.
The concert is not only a musical event, but also an invitation to look at the city differently – and to see differently a space that has until now remained at the edge of our vision.

PSSST is a series of concert events dedicated to contemporary and experimental music by artists uncompromisingly exploring the peripheries of musical thought. We live in a time of the greatest diversity in music, composition and instruments in history. So:
How many ways can one play the guitar? What are the boundaries of experimentation and improvisation? Where to go beyond the European tradition of grand concert halls and the order of the major triad?

OOO was founded in spring 2020 out of the need to create a dedicated space for exploring the world through sound art, contemporary music and intermedia art. Founding members are musician, educator and intermedia artist Fero Király and dramaturge, cultural manager and performer Eva Vozárová. The association's authorial and curatorial focus centers on projects that dive into complex relationships between human and non-human beings, covering areas such as acoustic ecology, deep listening, environmental and social issues, and disciplines like anthropology, philosophy, mathematics, and other fields of knowledge.
