Daniel Marek – PREČO?
Začiatkom augusta v Galérii UMELKA bude predstavená výstava
umelca Daniela Mareka s názvom Prečo?, ktorá spája mäkkosť textilu a expresívnosť maľby, v jedinečnej súhre abstraktných
diel.
Daniel Marek, absolvent reštaurovania maľby, sa vo svojej voľnej tvorbe odpútava od
konkrétnych predobrazov. Namiesto rekonštrukcie ponúka konštrukciu – výtvarný jazyk postavený
na geste, intuícii a farbe. Abstraktné diela tvorí ako reakciu na vonkajšie aj vnútorné podnety a
často ich pretaví aj do textilného materiálu pre umocnenie výtvarnej skúsenosti. Vzniká napätie i
súhra medzi mäkkosťou textilu a expresívnou gestickosťou maľby. Na výstave predstaví maľby a
artexy rôznych formátov, ktoré balansujú medzi intuíciou a spomienkou. Predstavujú vizuálnu
otázku bez jednoznačnej odpovede a vyzývajú diváka, aby sa pýtal: Prečo to vzniklo? Prečo takto?

Daniel Marek – WHY?
In early August, the UMELKA Gallery will present an exhibition by artist Daniel Marek entitled Why?, which combines the softness of textile and the expressiveness of painting, in a unique interplay of abstract works.

Daniel Marek, a graduate of painting restoration, detaches himself from specific prototypes in his free work. Instead of reconstruction, he offers construction – an artistic language built on gesture, intuition and color. He creates abstract works as a reaction to external and internal stimuli and often transforms them into textile material to enhance the artistic experience. There is tension and interplay between the softness of textile and the expressive gesturality of painting. At the exhibition, he will present paintings and art works of various formats that balance between intuition and memory. They present a visual question without a clear answer and invite the viewer to ask: Why did it come into being? Why like this? Why here? In short, WHY?
