Predstavme si mesto. Mesto v spánku. Mesto – krajinu. Pokojnú a tichú.

Diela Alžbety Hrnčiarovej boli súčasťou výstav Me without your fluid fields (Galéria Jula Bindera, 2025) alebo Sapere Aude / Odvážiť sa vidieť (Stredoslovenská galéria v Banskej Bystrici, 2024).

Imagine a city. A city in sleep. A city - a landscape. Peaceful and quiet. Cooling after a hot summer day and breathing slowly after the clamour of daily clashes of bodies, machines, tensions and layered contents seeking to secure needs. A city that transforms into a new entity - both daring and dangerous, becoming other, like imagination under the influence of darkness or exhaustion. The city as a place we can remember from decades ago, offline or from trips home, where moments, creatures and stories whose identity is often hidden from the critical reality of the present still survive.

Alžbeta Hrnčiarová is a graduate of the Open Studio of Painting at the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica. In her painting approach she focuses on depicting landscapes or urban environments as both physical and mental spaces, which she works with as sites of redefinitions of the possibilities of imagination, but also as sites of memory and time. At their edges, in encounters or moments, as short sequences in the film, these spaces become images of problematic processes and toxic relations, but equally home and time-space for interspecies interactions and empathy. Her works were included in the exhibitions Me without your fluid fields (Julo Binder Gallery, 2025) or Sapere Aude / Dare to See ( Central Slovak Gallery in Banská Bystrica, 2024).
