Pozývame vás na pop-up štúdiovú výstavu umelkyne Eszter Julie Kuzmy, ktorá predstaví projekt FORCES OF THE INSIGHTS, na ktorom pracovala počas svojej trojmesačnej rezidencie v Košiciach.
Súčasné globálne napätie zasahuje každého z nás. Vojnové konflikty, mocenské a ekonomické záujmy, ktoré potláčajú ľudskosť, ekologické katastrofy či vzostup umelej inteligencie – všetky tieto faktory umocňujú pocit, že zaužívaný svetový poriadok sa nevratne prevrátil. Tento stav sprevádza znepokojujúci pocit šialenstva, ktorému je na individuálnej úrovni možno vzdorovať iba iluzórne; inak zostávame bezmocní.
Forces of the insights je tvorivou reflexiou neustálej krízy. V jednotlivých dielach sa objavuje motív očistca ako metaforického priestoru, ktorý zbavuje svet zdrojov utrpenia a zároveň odhaľuje vnútorný plameň agresie, spaľujúci jednotlivca zvnútra.
Ústredným symbolom je plameň – na prvý pohľad nebezpečný a diabolský, no v konečnom dôsledku sa ukazuje ako nevyhnutné zlo. Stáva sa podmienkou nového, očisteného začiatku a vytvorenia znovuzjednoteného sveta.
Prostredníctvom textilu, ako hlavného média, dokáže Eszter túto hrozivú silu zjemniť a priblížiť. Výsledné diela tak môžu byť odtlačkami nahromadenej energie, ktorú všetci intuitívne cítime a dokážeme v nej nájsť vlastnú skúsenosť.
Rezidenčný program z verejných zdrojov podporil Fond na podporu umenia. Fond na podporu umenia je hlavným partnerom projektu. Projekt ďalej podporili Mesto Košice a Košický samosprávny kraj.
Rezidenčný pobyt je realizovaný vďaka spolupráci s Budapest Gallery.

We invite you to a pop-up studio exhibition by artist Eszter Julia Kuzma, who will present her project FORCES OF THE INSIGHTS, developed during her three-month residency in Košice.
The constant tension in the world today affects every living person. Wars, economic interests that can neglect all kinds of humanity, ecological catastrophe and the rise of artificial intelligence are all problems that contribute to the feeling that the world order is completely overturned. The feeling of madness is a very difficult feeling, because at the individual level it is only possible to find solutions seemingly, otherwise we are helpless against it.
Forces of the insights is a creative reflection on the constant crisis. In these works, purgatory appears, which metaphorically cleanses the world of all sources that create further suffering, as well as the flame of internal aggression itself, which consumes the individual from within.
The works also feature the flame as a symbol, where metaphorically the flame at first sight, seems to have a very dangerous and diabolical quality, but later turns out to be a necessary evil in light of the completely cleansed new beginning, for the creation of a reunited world.
Textile, as a medium, makes this threatening quality softer, more approachable. The works made here are the imprints of all the accumulated energy that we can all feel and relate to.
The residency program is supported using public funding by the Slovak Arts Council. The Slovak Arts Council is the main partner of this project. The project was also supported by the City of Košice and the Košice Self-Governing Region.
