O podujatí
[ENG below] Názov výstavy Hojenie sa vzťahuje na rôzne podoby uzdravovania – tela, prežívania aj vzťahov. Východiskom prezentovanej série fotografií Jána Kekeliho bolo zranenie kolena, ktoré autor utrpel pri lezení – činnosti, ktorá je preňho bytostne určujúca.
Obrazy vznikali v období úrazu, rekonvalescencie a postupného návratu k pohybu. Kekeli však nevytvára dokument v tradičnom zmysle slova; formuje skôr vizuálnu mapu procesu, v ktorom sa fyzické zranenie stáva impulzom k revitalizácii vzťahov – k blízkym, k priestoru, aj k sebe samému.
Fotografia tu funguje ako nástroj scitlivenia: umožňuje autorovi spomaliť, prehodnotiť vlastné limity a nanovo si osvojiť spôsob, akým obýva svet. Hojenie sa tak neodohráva len na fyzickej úrovni, ale aj v rovine identity, pamäte a medziľudských väzieb.

The title of the exhibition Healing refers to various forms of healing – of the body, of lived experience, and of relationships. The starting point for the presented series of photographs by Ján Kekeli was a knee injury the artist suffered while climbing, an activity that is integral to his identity.
The photographs were created during the period of injury, convalescence, and gradual return to movement. However, Kekeli does not document in the traditional sense; rather, he constructs a visual map of a process in which physical injury becomes an impulse to renew relationships – with others, with space, and with himself.
Photography here becomes a tool for heightened sensitivity: it allows the artist to slow down, reassess his limits, and rediscover the way he inhabits the world. Healing thus unfolds not only on a physical level, but also across identity, memory, and interpersonal relationships.
