Pipilotti Rist patrí k jednej z najvýznamnejších osobností súčasného videoartu. Prvá intervencia cyklu Na počkanie v tomto roku je sprístupnená v čakárni autobusovej stanice, ktorá je vstupnou bránou do Trenčína. Na mieste príchodov a odchodov autobusov je dielo Pipilotti Rist poetickou pomlčkou – uprostred čakania nás vyruší žena, ktorá si splošťuje tvár o monitor, akoby chcela prejsť cez sklo a zostúpiť do ulice – prekročiť hranicu medzi svetom obrazu a našou realitou.
Švajčiarska umelkyňa Pipilotti Rist od 90. rokov minulého storočia zásadne zmenila spôsob, akým sa videoumenie dá zažiť. Prestáva byť iba projekciou na stene v galérii. Stáva sa priestorovou situáciou a telesnou skúsenosťou. Tvorba umelkyne citlivo odhaľuje, ako obrazy formujú naše vnímanie, spomienky a každodenné rituály.

We would like to invite you to a guided tour of the artwork Open My Glade (Flatten) by Pipilotti Rist. Together with curators Audrey Hörmann and Jaro Varga, you will have a unique opportunity to hear commentary on the work as well as on the circumstances of its preparation and selection.

The first intervention of this year’s Waiting Places cycle is installed in the waiting room of the bus station, which serves as the gateway to Trenčín. In this place of arrivals and departures, Rist’s work acts as a poetic pause – in the midst of waiting, we are
interrupted by a woman pressing and flattening her face against a monitor, as if trying to pass through the glass and step out into the street – crossing the boundary between the world of the image and our reality.
Since the 1990s, Swiss artist Pipilotti Rist has fundamentally transformed the way video art can be experienced. It is no longer merely a projection on a gallery wall; it becomes a spatial situation and a bodily experience. Her work sensitively reveals how images shape our perception, memories, and everyday rituals.
