Vo výstavnom súbore Na krásnom modrom Dunaji Martin Marenčin skúma prostredníctvom krajiny vzťah človeka a prostredia, v ktorom žije. Jeho ľudoprázdne fotografie zachytávajú stopy civilizácie – odpady, zásahy do krajiny, náhodné konštrukcie či pozostatky minulosti – a premieňajú ich na znepokojivé, no zároveň poetické obrazy. Autor nachádza estetiku tam, kde zvyčajne vidíme iba environmentálnu záťaž, a prostredníctvom ticha fotografického obrazu sprítomňuje neprítomného človeka. Krajina sa tak stáva dokumentom spoločnosti, kultúrnou archeológiou aj záznamom času. Marenčinove fotografie odhaľujú, čo po človeku zostáva, a kladú otázku, akú podobu bude mať prostredie, ktoré po sebe zanecháme.

In the exhibition series On the Beautiful Blue Danube Martin Marenčin explores the relationship between people and the environment through landscape. His uninhabited images capture traces of civilisation – waste, interventions in the landscape, improvised structures, and remnants of the past – transforming them into unsettling yet poetic images. The author finds beauty where we usually see only environmental damage, and through the silence of the photographic image makes the absent human presence tangible. The landscape thus becomes a document of society, a form of cultural archaeology, and a record of time. Marenčin’s photographs reveal what remains after us and raise the question of what kind of environment we will leave behind.
The exhibition will run until November 1, 2026.
