How do we build systems of care that can support our communities and the work of building liberated futures?

For the first time in Bratislava, we welcome Palestinian author, organizer, and culture worker Mx. Yaffa, who has worked in many projects to support the most marginalized among the marginalized, drawing from their own experience as a trans Muslim person.

𝐎𝐧 𝟐𝟒 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫, 𝟏𝟓:𝟑𝟎-𝟏𝟖:𝟑𝟎, 𝐘𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐚 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐑𝐀𝐃𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐋 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐊𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐏, 𝐚 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

This session explores caring for our own communities as we care for communities severely impacted by genocide, the climate catastrophe, and other atrocities. Together, we’ll explore mutual aid, resource redistribution, decolonization, and collective practices of care, asking what frameworks we can establish today that embody the liberated futures we’re fighting for.

Drawing from Yaffa’s poetry and writings, the session will engage with themes from their books Letters from a Living Utopia and Be Better Broken.

This is an invitation to reflect on how to consider care as not an individual act, but as a collective practice and a foundation for liberation.
