CURRICULUM VITAE

VENEZIANI-VALLUZZI PIANO DUO

The piano duo formed by Lucia Veneziani and Davide Valluzzi, after having achieved the Second Level Degree in piano at the N. Piccinni Conservatory of Bari with full marks, respectively with M° Gregorio Goffredo and M° Maurizio Matarrese, made their debut in 2014 , in the thriving artistic and cultural environment of the city of Oulu, Finland, where following the award of a prestigious scholarship from the European Community, they had the opportunity to collaborate side by side in an intense professional activity that saw them protagonists of various concerts both solo and chamber, in formation with some of the most talented instrumentalists of the place, enjoying great success and consent of the public. They immediately discovered that they could combine their musical talents in an extremely natural way, working on a varied and stimulating repertoire, ranging from classical composers such as Mendelssohn, Mozart, Ravel, Poulenc, and Saint-Saëns, to more modern composers, including modern and jazz composers such as Mike Cornick, Ligeti, Gershwin, and Piazzolla, also focusing on lesser-known pieces of great artistic value. The duo immediately had the opportunity to perform in Oulu's most prestigious venues, such as the Tulindberg Hall and the OUAS University Concert Hall, attracting widespread acclaim from a cultured audience. Their harmony and perfectly balanced artistic and musical talents and personalities were particularly striking. Subsequently, they participated in numerous international competitions in Italy and abroad, always placing among the top places, including: International Music Competition Pietro Argento (Alink-Argerich Foundation), Gioia del Colle (BA) 2019 (I absolute prize); Grand Prize Virtuoso, Parigi 2019 (I prize); Concorso Pianistico Nazionale Giulio Rospigliosi, Lamporecchio (PT) 2019 (I absolute prize); Concorso Internazionale Città di Piove di Sacco (PD) 2019 (I absolute prize); Concorso Pianistico Internazionale "Riviera Etrusca" Piombino 2015 (I prize); Concorso Pianistico Int. From 2015 to 2017, the duo attended the Advanced Piano Course held by Maestro Bruno Canino at the Fiesole Academy, passing the final exam with top marks. The duo currently continues its intense concert activity, constantly improving their skills under the guidance of Maestro Maurizio Matarrese, expanding their repertoire and developing an increasingly effective and refined musicality and complicity.

Critics wrote of them: " The two pianists possessed a precision and clarity—veritably of the caliber of a studio recording—of a kind rarely found these days […]our duo has shown that they are capable of all colors, both in strong, sudden contrasts and in the softest shades. […] Everyone had the opportunity to experience with their eyes the brave technique of the two young musicians from Bari, the same appreciated by the ears, but visually manifested by the spectacle of the very fast hands. [...] The duo combines in a perfect artistic fusion, coherent, together, never contradictory, a complete understanding in making the complex texture of an orchestral sound, dense, compact, total." - P.
