Amelie Siba + Adela Mede

Amelie Siba and Adela Meda on April 12 will perform on the Pink Whale. Her latest album Gently Double and released in April 2023 creates a collage of lo-fi samples, dirty guitars and layered angry vocals. Although her previous work was known for its very intimate character and has now moved to a more aggressive and assertive sphere with a more dirty sound, the vulnerability is still the main element of her work. A plate of homemade fragments of metal samples, where it creates a safe space for an open conversation on the impact of society on mental health. The raw sound of the album then shows how much effort it costs to resist. Her intimate, strong songs sung in three languages explore the reality of a life spreading beyond the borders. The voice is a central element in its practice; It is dominant, in the center of the action, it is an expression of the universal language that MEDE describes the reality beyond our individual experience. Over the years 2022 and 2023, she performed all over Europe on a tour alongside Claire Rousay, Dialect or Martyn Basta and shared a stage with Lucrecia Dalt, Grand River, Irena & Vojtěch Havel and others. She studied popular music at Goldsmiths University and is currently living in Bratislava.
