Adela Mede

Adela Mede is a sound artist based in Bratislava. In February 2022, she released her debut album Szabadság. The album was created on the Slovakian-Hungarian border and you can hear the sound imprints of the surrounding landscape, folklore earthiness, digital experiments, stories from family history, surrealist fragments and repetitive descriptions of natural cycles. On the recording, she sings in three different languages ​​(Slovak, Hungarian, English), each of which is characterized by a different intonation and harmony. For Adela Mede, the voice is an equal musical instrument, but one should not forget the poetic content and emotional depth, which the Czech music critic Miloš Hroch writes about for The Quietus.
