Anamanaguchi + special guest: litterbin

Anamanaguchi will perform at the Subzero club on May 11, 2026.

The American band Anamanaguchi returns to Europe after a significant genre change and will perform at the Subzero club in Prague on May 11, 2026. The formation, which became famous for its original combination of chiptune aesthetics and energetic electronics, will present its current album Anyway (2025) - a record on which it moves towards alt/indie rock and opens a new chapter in its work.

Anamanaguchi released their latest album Anyway in the fall of 2025 on Polyvinyl Records and was produced by renowned producer Dave Fridmann, who took care of recording, production and mixing. The record represents a significant departure from their previous sound and shows the band in a rawer, more guitar-driven position. Together with director Jared Raab (Nirvanna The Band the Movie, Blackberry), the band created a visual accompaniment to the singles Darcie and Magnet. Last year, Anamanaguchi completed an extensive 40-city headlining tour, supported by Sobs, Ovlov, Shy Boys and Full Body 2.

The band formed in New York in the mid-2000s and quickly built a strong fan base thanks to their unique sound combining chiptune, rock and electronica. She became famous, among other things, by programming her music directly into a Nintendo cartridge, which could actually be played. They also have the soundtrack for Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game or one of the most successful crowdfunded music projects ever - the debut album Endless Fantasy.

Anamanaguchi have long been associated with innovation across music and technology. They created their own experimental video game Capsule Silence XXIV, collaborated with virtual pop icon Hatsune Miku (their joint track "Miku" is one of her most successful English-sung songs), and their music was also featured in the global hit Fortnite. The band also became famous for its unconventional projects - including launching a pizza into space.
