Arnold's villa is an example of the initial development in the oldest Brno residential colony of Černá Pole, which underlines its important historical, architectural and urban context. It was built in the style of historicism, later adapted in the spirit of Art Deco with elements of Art Nouveau. This origin of the Bavarian architect and builder first worked in the architectural office of Heinrich von Ferstel in Vienna, where he participated in the construction sites within the Ringstrasse round class. With a similar intention to build the buildings of the newly emerging circular class, he also arrived in Brno, where he eventually settled. The name of Josef Arnold is associated with a number of Brno buildings, for example with a red church, Kounic Palace or Mahen Theater. Josef Arnold built a villa on Drobný Street near the city center in Černé Pole, which were then exclusive, newly formed by a villa colony above Lužánky. After several changes in the owners of the villa she bought Cecílie Hože. This lady was related to the Löw-Beer and Tugendhat families, whose family villas are located in the vicinity. Cecilia Hože was the last private owner of the villa, after World War II it was used as a kindergarten until 2012. The basic layout consists of a longitudinal two -tract with a transverse individual. From the front facade oriented to the southwest, the bay of niches bearing an elevated terrace with an ornamentally decorated cast -iron railing. Equally oriented is a wooden glass porch with frames shaped in a geometric ornament, located on the ground floor. The ceilings of the rooms are mainly decorated with ceiling rails and stucco frames with geometry and floral decor.
