Open House Brno

Open House Brno is part of the international network of annual festivals of urban architecture open house worldwide . In 2001, the Open House New York was founded, based on attacks on the World Trade Center. The founders wanted to prove that the city will not even close, on the contrary, it will open to everyone, even in places that are not commonly accessible. Slowly, other open house festivals were created, until in 2010 Victoria Thornton founded the Open House Worldwide to connect, share experiences and present cities together. The network administration was taken by the non -profit company Open City. More than forty other cities followed. In 2020, the founder of the management of the organization resigned. However, the open house around the world has hit the Covid19 restrictions. The reaction was the joint arrangement of the online festival Open House Worldwide . The association has been in operation since 2007. In addition to the organizing activities, it also focuses on education in the field of cultural management.
