The depository is often perceived as an impregnable safe - a place where works of art are kept, but the public does not have access to it. The Moravian Gallery fundamentally changes this view. The new three -storey building in Brno -Gřečkovice is built in the former military area and is one of the most important investments of the gallery in the last twenty years. The open depository combines two key tasks of the gallery: to protect works of art and at the same time to present them to the public. As part of the open depository, it will be possible to look behind the scenes of the museum: how the works are stored, preserved, digitized or preparing for exhibitions and seeing hundreds of works that have been hidden to the public until now.
