"A fusion from a cultural heritage and musical innovation.
Founded three Japanese musicians who have lived abroad for a long time. Each of us is deeply rooted in western culture, but with this project we intend to concentrate on our roots and memories and to express the sounds that always existed in us. The main goal of this project is to combine traditional Japanese music-such as Nagauta, Ondo and Hayashi-with western music styles such as free jazz, avant-garde jazz, rock and improvisation in order to create new forms of musical expression. It is a search for our authenticity and identity. With this unique connection, which was created by our joint Japanese heritage and long careers abroad, the Hikaeme Trio would like to promote the potential of its creative form of expression with the support of the Berlin Senate. Simon Forchhammer - drumsThe mia dyberg trio, in which narrative motifs and Timestretch Grooves are integrated in both the compositions and in the daring, focused, focused collective improvisations. Your European Post-Jazz approach is characterized by melodic fragmentation, prominent use of silence and a continuous interplay between the individual and collective expression. This creates unpredictable musical progressions with clear topics. Your two albums "Ticket" (2018) and "Timestretch" (2023) published at Clean Feed Records have received recognition from many media, including a 4-star review in Downbeat Magazine, and position the trio as an innovative voice within the European Saxophone Trios. The trio has its own subtle balance between density and intensity. This creates a music experience that is remarkably fluid and coherent.
