The Academy for Old Music Berlin is devoted to the rediscovery of Emilie Mayer (1812-1883).

as "Europe's largest composer" refers to the title of a current biography. Boulez Saals caused a sensation, but was quickly forgotten after her death. While Mayer's songs and chamber music have been heard more often for some time, the rediscovery of her symphonic work has just begun. The Academy for Old Music Berlin now offers the opportunity to date: In three concerts, all the composer orchestra handles, which are re -opened from the manuscripts: 5 symphonies, 4 overtures and the concert for piano and orchestra (soloist: Alexander Melnikov).

While her songs and Chamber Music Have Been Performed More Frequently Over the Last Few Years, The Redisco Covery of Her Symphonic Works is only beginning.
