Faculty of Arts Muni - Walk to Art

Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Arts, is one of the four oldest faculties founded at the birth of this university in 1919.

, however, began to use the Faculty of Arts in 1921. Style according to architects Josef Arnold and Moritz Kellner (building A, B). The premises of the faculty at the beginning of the 1920s soon expanded a new building built between 1922 and 1924 according to a project, which was finished by the well -known architect Miloš Laml (building C). The project of this modernist building with classicizing elements originally counted on the construction of the second follow -up tract heading to Arne Novák Street, but its realization took place for many years later. The building closing the Faculty of Arts dates back to the turn of the 50th and 60s and until 1990 the faculty shared it with the Rectorate of Masaryk University (building D). In the first stage in 2010–2015 was reconstructed the building of the former orphanage, in the second, between 2013 and 2016 the remaining buildings C and D. Using this building renewal, the entire Faculty of Arts was aesthetically unified and adapted to the current needs of teachers and students. Between 2000-01 according to the design of architects Ladislav Kuba and Tomáš Pilař (building F). The library with large study and hidden large backgrounds was awarded the Grand Prix of the Municipality of Architects, the Award of the Union of Fine Artists and the Award of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic.
